Friendly Visiting

Friends are important to maintain health. The Good Companions - Community Support Services can help arrange for a volunteer to visit you on a regular or occasional basis.
Friendly vistors are volunteers who are matched one-on-one with seniors living in the central Ottawa area (north of the Queensway between Preston Street and Blair Road). Friendly Visitors visit seniors in person every other week for 1.5 to 2 hours, and phone on the alternate week.
Seniors and adults with physical disabilities are waiting for their doorbells to ring, for a reason to put the kettle on, for a good chat or to dust off the playing cards and board games. Some, in warmer weather, would like company on a short walk. Would you become their visitor? You will put joy in their lives and benefit from knowing them.
